<p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">On 21 October 2003 the Council of the Law Society of New South Wales noted that it had not been able to make a determination for the purposes of Section 38FC of the Legal Profession Act, 1987, with respect to the notifications made by Carolyn Patricia Deigan.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The Law Society Council further noted on that date that an indefinite statutory suspension of the practising certificate of Carolyn Patricia Deigan followed in accordance with the provisions of Section 38FH of the Legal Profession Act, 1987.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The Council of the Law Society further noted that Section 38FG(2) of the Legal Profession Act, 1987 requires the Legal Services Commissioner to take over the determination of the matter when a statutory suspension of a practising certificate arises.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The Legal Services Commissioner will now make a determination pursuant to his powers contained within Division 1AA, Part 3 of the Legal Profession Act, 1987</span></p>
